Commitments

There is no fee to join as a member of ERIC. We ask that you read the following carefully prior to signing up.

1. Promote and support welcoming efforts in your community and within your spheres of influence using Welcoming Framework strategies.

2. Follow through on ERIC’s “calls to action” to advocate for local policies, practices and investments that promote welcoming and inclusion. (This may be in the form of sharing information, contacting local elected officials, signing petitions, etc.)

3. Engage in ongoing personal growth related to intercultural competency and anti-racism efforts.

4. Take part in the annual Welcoming Week celebrations (mid-September) by participating in at least one of these ways: as an event organizer, venue host, co-sponsor, promoter, attendee.

5. Commit to participating in at least one of these regularly:

  • Connection meetings: Typically on the first Tuesday of Feb., Apr., June, Aug., Oct., and Dec. from 11-12:30, these are opportunities to stay in the know about all of ERIC’s efforts, share announcements, participate in planning, and connect with others for joint actions. We’ve been hosting these meetings for over 15 years. Let’s connect!
  • Provider meetings (first Tuesday of November and March, 11-12:30). Come hear from all the incredible nonprofits, faith communities, and school staff who provide supportive services about trends they’re seeing related to our immigrant and refugee neighbors plus their recommendations for systemic efforts they’d like to see ERIC prioritize.
  • Evening Socials (TBA)
